Basket weaving is an honored, age-old craft passed down for generations in Peru. Baskets are handmade by local craftspeople with totora reed, which grows abundantly in Peruvian wetlands, affectionately known as "Paraiso (meaning 'paradise'). Materials are cut and gathered, then carried out by donkey and laid flat to dry in fields where the sun gently bleaches the fibers. Imported. Each is unique. Small, 22" dia. x 16"H; Medium, 26" dia. x 22"H; Extra Large, 30" dia. x 48"H.
