Retail Buyer


Job Overview:

The Retail Buyer is responsible for all facets of product selection, assortment, and building vendor relationships in the category. Works closely with the Senior Director and merchandising team to ensure selection and vision meets the high standards of quality and authenticity of the brand as well as item count and margin. Accountable for category performance, quality, uniqueness and price value relationship while adhering to the company's merchandise process and calendar. Develops business strategies that maximize the development of the brand, sales and gross margin in the home category in our retail division.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify a mix of products by season that ensure the Sundance aesthetic is delivered and tells a cohesive product story within our retail stores
  • Maintain relationships, resolve issues, and conduct negotiations with vendors as necessary (domestic and overseas)
  • Follow a strict assortment plan and operate within the strict guidelines of the merchandising process and calendar
  • Implement and execute the plan to assure that ultimate performance meets the sales, margin and profitability to space expectations for the home category in the retail division
  • Participate in post-mortem meetings and meet with the Senior Director and merchandising team on a regular basis to review in-season and post-mortem sales information. Leverage this information to improve retail performance
  • Plan, schedule, and participate in buying trips as well as store visits
  • Review and validate item copy blocks and artist stories in a timely manner, per the calendar
  • Responsible for maintaining and/or improving the overall return rate. Act as a customer advocate for product quality

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • Minimum of five years' experience as a buyer working in a corporate retail environment; preferably in a department or specialty store environment
  • Previous category experience in home décor and/or furnishings
  • Global sourcing experience preferred
  • Design background preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Web Applications Developer


Job Overview:

The Web Applications Developer manages all aspects of internal and externally-facing websites including codebase, data, user support and day-to-day operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop new web applications, functionality and features based on design requests and campaign initiatives from the Creative Services and Marketing departments
  • Manage web databases to ensure data integrity and consistency across various websites and applications
  • Research and fix any reported website problems including code errors, data integration issues and any other concerns which prevent smooth operation of web systems

We are seeking an individual to assist us at our retail store located in San Diego, CA.
