McRay Magleby, formerly creative director for Brigham Young University, is now a distinguished professor of graphic design at the University of Utah. Mr. Magleby also manages his own studio, Magleby and Company, located at his home in Provo, Utah. Inspired by African art motifs, Mr. Magleby designed the magnificent Tibetan rug for the Tibet Rug Company, a joint venture between a local rug merchant and Tibetan refugees in Nepal. Today, Mr. Magleby continues to expand his design horizons. He has worked on such diverse projects as Salt Lake City 2002 Olympiad posters, sculptural designs for the facade of the Utah Governor’s Mansion, a 12’x16’ stained glass window in the Provo public library, U.S. postage stamps, and fine art drawings and paintings.
