the birds came to me on the fennel

Item No. 54644 $2,200.00
When Katherine Dunn first moved to her Oregon farm, she discovered this old pine table top abandoned in her barn. But as is her wont, she transformed something discarded and forgotten into a stunning and emotional representation of the natural world around her. She grows fennel as companion plants in her front gardens; while some folks consider them to be weeds, she sees them as graceful and home to various birds, as well as shady-creators for her many barn cats. Acrylic on reclaimed pine table top, ready to hang. One of a kind; subject to prior sale. 26"W x 17"H.
