Artist Nicole Strasburg is a keen observer of the mercurial weather patterns that continually shape and reshape her surroundings. Capturing in paint the movements of the sun, wind and clouds is a joyous exercise in seizing the moment. This day on Santa Cruz Island, just off the coast of Santa Barbara, presented a rolling landscape of grasses baked by the sun, swept by the whims of the wind.
