Due to the large size and weight of furniture shipments, most pieces are shipped by a freight company. You will be notified by mail 2-3 weeks before delivery, and the carrier will contact you by phone to set up a 4 hour window for the appointment. Deliveries are Monday through Friday. These shipments are delivered through your doorway. Because home furnishings, rugs, lamps and other large items are heavier and bulkier than most, shipping costs are higher. A delivery surcharge has been added to these items; this charge is listed in parentheses ($) after the product price and is in addition to the order shipping charges. All shipping rates apply to deliveries in the contiguous 48 states; shipping rates to Alaska, Hawaii, US Possessions and foreign countries require a quote. The table's legs do not fit the table very well at all. Some gaps are as big as 3/8 inch horizontally and 1/4 inch vertically. I also had to purchase some shims to stabilize the table top as it wobbled terribly when installed. The wood is interesting but I worry about some of the cracks increasing in length in time. I would not recommend this table to anyone at this or even at a reduced price. Also had several problems with the delivery. The table top came without legs at nearly 8:00 PM. The legs came two weeks later. The delivery men were friendly and apologetic.

A superb dining table

Like the previous reviewer, I flirted with the Great Falls Table for quite a while. In fact, it was his/her review that encouraged me to finally buy it. I was hesitant ordering it on the basis of an online photograph, not trusting the color nor the wood, with which I was unfamiliar. The color, it turns out, is not exactly as shown; however, I like it's actual darker tone better; it's in between the online and the regular catalog photos. The wood is beautifully grained. The finish is rich. I believe, occasional waxing will enhance it further over time. I'm not sure how water resistant it is and have been reluctant to put it to a test. That is something I wish were included in the catalog description. The draftmanship is good. If I have one negligible hesitation, it is that the fit of the top into the raised blocks could be a bit tighter. (It's as wide as a quarter of an inch in places.) Our table is the focal point in a large high-ceilinged area, but is not visually overpowering. We have six chairs around it permanently, though it will seat eight comfortably. The price seems reasonable, even considering the high shipping cost.

Gorgeous craftsmanship - love it!

I have coveted the Great Falls Table for years, since the first time it appeared in the catalog -- but there was no reason for me to buy it then, because it wouldn't fit in the small rental where my husband and I lived. Recently, we bought our first home, and it has a spacious dinning area. When I went to Sundance online to order the table, I was crushed to learn it was no longer available. (Truly crushed.) That was nearly six months ago.

I've been looking ever since, but nothing compared.

To my amazement, Sundance started carrying it again, and I bought it and it arrived last week! It's absolutely stunning! And needless to say, it was well worth the wait. The only thing that was missing was some instructions on how to care for it, but I did call the 1-800 number and was given some info - however, it would be nice to have that included when it arrives. Highly recommend this product.
