Manufacturing/design issues with Annapurna Hoops

Sometimes between the point of design and eventul manufacture, things go wrong. The pair of Annapurna Hoops I received had a more than 1" space between the hinge side and catch side of the earrings. Consequently, the earrings hung awakwardly crooked in my ears with the catch side visable below the earlobe instead of behind as it should be. After internal debate about whether to send the hoops back when I liked their size and weight, my art school training in jewelry design caused me to throw caution to the wind and get out the tools to try fix the manufacturing flaws. I was able to force the hoops together to a 1/2" opening without damage while maintaining the round shape. The catch for the bar that goes through the ear seems to be soft and easily bent outward so that it does not firmly close. Of course the bars are far too long and must be cut shorter and refiled to blunt points. Should the catch break off, I definitely will regretfully request to return these earrings even though an attempt was made to correct the design. If I received a "bad pair" and there are correctly manufactured ones available, I would appreciate a replacement.
