Gold is a remarkable, precious metal, with an unparalleled combination of chemical and physical properties. The only yellow metal, its name comes from the Old English word for yellow, 'geolu'. As the only metal that forms no oxide film on its surface in air at normal temperatures means that it will never rust or tarnish.
One of the three noble metals, gold in its pure form is a yellow metallic element. This soft metal performs best when alloyed with other metals to make it stronger. To produce rose gold, gold is alloyed with copper to create a warm pink hue.
Gold has long been considered one of the most precious metals in the world. For thousands of years it has been used as the ornament of kings and as a standard for global currencies.
HOW TO FIND YOUR RING SIZE:
Cut a strip of paper several inches long, similar in width to the ring you are ordering. Wrap the strip around your finger. Mark the place where the paper meets. With your ruler, measure the distance between the mark you have made and the beginning edge of the paper. Refer to the chart below:

I purchased this band to represent a personal commitment I made to myself this Winter Solstice. I'm not generally a ring-wearer, and this was a long shot ordering by mail. I am so completely happy that I plan on purchasing 3 more for 3 more commitments I will be making. It is delicate, of a lovely quality but has a natural, somewhat unfinished appeal to it.

Comfortable, simple. Looks delicate but is durable. I wear it to replace my uncomfortable wedding band. I wear it alone but it certainly can compliment an engagement ring. I'm very happy with this purchase.
