Neeru Kumar's innovative textile designs put a contemporary spin on age-old embroidery and weaving techniques. A native of India, she graduated from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. Since then, she's been researching and reinterpreting such indigenous crafts as kantha embroidery and khadi and ikat weaving, gaining an international following in the process. Her work ensures the preservation of these art forms as it cultivates and nurtures local artisans.
