Sundance was founded in 1969 by Robert Redford at the base of beautiful 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. The goal of the Sundance Village is to offer a community art and nature that would foster artistic pursuits and recreational activity while preserving naturally beautiful and unique environment of Sundance. The first edition of Sundance Catalog was mailed in 1989 to offer "the kinds of things that we have been privileged to collect, many of them handcrafted exclusively for Sundance."

Ecommerce Marketing Manager

Job Overview:

The Ecommerce Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the financial growth and profitability of all paid ecommerce initiatives set out in corporate objectives. This person is the catalyst for driving profitable revenue growth, maintaining cost budgets, and identifying new customer acquisition opportunities. In partnership with ecommerce and off-line marketing strategies, provide a best in class customer experience that reflects the quality of the Sundance Brand.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the day to day functions of the Sundance ecommerce programs, including: SEM, Affiliates, Retargeting and Comparison Shopping Engines.
  • Support monthly and annual revenue goals for ecommerce programs while strictly adhering to cost budgets.
  • Oversee and maintain ecommerce internal and external partner relationships.
  • Establish, maintain and adhere to the marketing calendar.
  • Maintain and improve website analytics.
  • Build custom reporting dashboards and executive reports using Adobe Marketing Cloud (Omniture) and Tableau.
  • Manage ecommerce reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual level with insight provided to executive team on issues and opportunities.
  • Manage the collaborative process between ecommerce needs and IT.
  • Achieve 12 month buyer file growth targets through online acquisition strategies that meet acceptable LTV and expense ratio goals.
Desired Skills & Expertise:
  • A minimum of five years in an ecommerce marketing role, financial forecasting and management of budgets preferred.
  • Direct Marketing background preferred.
  • Four year college degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
  • Proven track record of success in a rapidly growing environment.
  • A unique blend of both highly creative and analytical skillsets.
Other Skills:
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments effectively.
  • Microsoft Excel skills for in depth analytics.
  • In depth knowledge of Adobe Marketing Cloud (Omniture).

Junior Jewelry Buyer

Job Overview:

Works closely with Senior Design Director, and Merchandising team to establish product selection and vision to meet the high standard of quality and authenticity of Sundance Catalog Company. Accountable for category performance, quality, uniqueness and price value relationship. Accountable to adhere to the company's merchandise process and calendar.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in sourcing, developing, and sampling products for the Catalog, the Internet and Retail Stores that meet Sundance criteria and filters. Begin price negotiation process with vendors at time of requesting samples.
  • Assist in building spreads/pages for both core and jewelry books based on strict assortment plan, density requirements, and repeats provided by the Merchandise Manager. Operate within the strict guidelines of the merchandising process and calendar. Implement and execute the plan to assure that ultimate performance meets the sales, margin and profitability to space expectations for jewelry category.
  • Follow up with vendors on original and photo samples requested. Responsible for making sure all photo samples have been approved and information has been communicated internally as well as to vendors.
  • Meet with Director, and merchandising team on a regular basis to review current and post mortem sales information and leverage this information to improve catalog performance. Be involved at Post Mortem meetings and have an understanding of product performance.
  • Work directly with vendors and our QC dept. to resolve the problem and communicate the resolution with entire jewelry team & management.
  • Responsible for reviewing all sample invoices in a timely manner and communicating with vendor changes, if any, that need to be made. Pass off invoice once it is correct to Director for final signature before payment.
  • Planning, scheduling and participating in buying trips.
  • Setting up appointments, both on and off sight with various manufactures to source product samples.
  • Must review and validate item copy blocks in a timely manner and per the calendar.
  • Responsible for maintaining and/or improving the overall return rate. Acts as a customer advocate for product quality.
  • Identify additional internet-only product and work with existing assortment to recommend the purchase and/or development of line extensions.
Desired Skills and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4+ years retail buying experience; preferably in a department or specialty store environment.
  • Proficient in MS word and Excel.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze and quantify market trends.
  • Results oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Able to independently organize and prioritize broad workload to meet deadlines.
Other Skills
  • Ability to define problems, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Production Artist

Job Overview:

The production artist reports to the Creative Director. This person will be responsible for the execution of electronic production and ensure that design elements are consistently applied. They will be working in all stages of electronic production for the catalog and will be directly responsible for the accuracy. They will assist the Senior Production Artist and Designer in preparing visual layouts and files for meetings and approvals. Provide electronic layouts to pre-press that meet all technical and quality standards. Must be able to maintain several projects in different stages simultaneously and follow schedules.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Proactive approach to electronic production.
  • Expert in all CS programs with the expectation to stay abreast of the latest changes and new software on the market.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Format and place copy and images correctly and efficiently in layouts.
  • Address scaling issues, cropping and bleed with Senior Production Artist and Designer.
  • Maintain catalog libraries, style guides and templates for production.
  • Assist with electronic production on special projects as needed.
  • Ability to handle stress and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow through and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet print deadlines.
  • Proactively participate and collaborate to meet Sundance’s business goals.
  • Provide all electronic files to pre-press meeting all technical standards.
  • Work with copywriters, merchandising, retail and other outside printers as needed.
  • Create shared files for various groups for proofing.
Desired Skills and Expertise
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Expert in all aspects of  CS.
  • Knowledge of pre-press.
  • Knowledge of offset printing preferred.
  • Ability to work with several teams.
  • Collaborate with Senior Production Artist, Designers, Art Directors, Creative Director.
