In creating patterns for her original rugs, Laura Downing uses the keen eye she's developed as an award-winning graphic designer. Her passion for Tibetan rugs hand knotted from exceptionally strong, manually spun wool drives her involvement in the Tibet Rug Company, a joint venture between a Salt Lake City rug company and a cooperative of Tibetan refugees in Nepal.
