Katherine Dunn interprets the countryside and creatures around her Willamette Valley, Oregon, home in paintings that both shroud and reveal. Influenced by moonlight, mists and other atmospheric phenomena, she characterizes her work as "reflections of my own inner mysteries." Wood is her preferred substrate, especially found wood; acrylics, pastels, inks and the occasional collage are her media of choice.
