Our Product Story
Naomi Herndon's fascination with ornament was born during visits to her grandmother's jewelry store in Juarez, Mexico. Art school and travels through Europe and Asia nurtured her passion. Today, she draws inspiration from diverse cultural influences and the landscape around her Santa Fe studio. Her metal smith husband Mark and design partner Jeri Lynn Heald join her there, a team dedicated to creating wearable art.
Gold in its pure form is a yellow metallic element. It is one of the three noble metals and surpassed by none in its innate resistance to corrosion, malleability and attractive color. This soft metal performs best when alloyed with other metals to make it stronger. To produce rose gold, gold is alloyed with copper to give it a warm pink hue.
Sterling silver is a white, highly reflective precious metal composed of 925 parts of pure silver and 75 parts alloy, usually copper. Copper provides the silver with sufficient hardness and wearing qualities, as pure silver is sometimes considered too soft to be used or worn everyday. Sterling silver is used in a wide variety of jewelry for a beautiful polished look.
