Our Product Story
Anne Sportun's creativity is driven by her belief in a universal language of shapes and symbols. Finding pure beauty in nature's organic forms, she balances the precise with the irregular, the perfect with the prosaic. Sparkling gems adopt an understated elegance that transforms them from special-occasion dazzlers to wear-everyday pleasures. Based in Toronto, she's been honored with a Canadian postage stamp featuring her hands and rings.
The diamond is the birthstone for April. Its origin derives from the Greek word "adamas," meaning unconquerable and indestructible. The Greeks believed the fire in the diamond reflected the constant flame of love. The diamond is an extremely hard, highly refractive crystalline form of carbon that is usually colorless and is used as a gemstone and in abrasives, cutting tools, and other applications. The blue hue is a result of trace amounts of boron in the stone's crystal structure. Today, diamonds are found in Brazil, South Africa, Siberia and Western Canada.
One of the three noble metals, gold in its pure form is a yellow metallic element. This soft metal performs best when alloyed with other metals to make it stronger. White gold is an alloy of gold and at least one white metal, usually nickel or palladium.
