Our Product Story
Topaz, symbol of love and affection, is the birthstone for November. It is one of nature's most wonderful yet least-known gems. The term "topaz" is often applied to citrine or smoky quartz, but true topaz is very beautiful and versatile. Topaz occurs not only in the transparent yellow, yellow brown, orange-y brown, and pinky brown colors most popularly associated with it, but it is also found in a very light to medium red, very light to light blue (often the result of treatment, although it does occur naturally), very light green, light greenish yellow, violet, and colorless.
Moonstone, the opalescent variety of orthoclase, belonging to the feldspar group, takes its name from its white or blue-ish sheen, caused by the reflection of light from the stone's internal structure and often compared to the shine of the moon.
Throughout history, the pearl, with its warm inner glow and shimmering iridescence, has been one of the most highly prized and sought after gems.
Gold-filled is defined as a layer of 10kt or better gold mechanically bonded under heat and pressure to another metal, then rolled or drawn to a given thickness. The quantity of the gold must be at least 1/20th of the item's total weight. The item must be marked as 10, 12 or 14kt gold-filled. Gold-filled is much thicker than gold plated, and gold-filled items are generally considered lifetime products.
