Our Product Story
The Tolix "H70" stool is fully manufactured in steel. It is a 100% re-usable product. A Tolix stool would become during it's second life part of a bicycle or a car!
But before the "H70" stool is easily repairable and repainted by your cartwright who will give it a new finish even after 50 years of use.
In 2005, "H70" stool is still manufactured in our atelier of Autun (Burgundy / France) exactly as it was in 1950 when Jean Pauchard, son of Xavier inventor of the "A" chair created a series of stools to answer an order from iron industry to give a seat for every worker. This explain why "H" stools collection goes from 45cm to 80 cm by steps of 5 cm to fit to all workers needs.
The stool is rough metal with a transparent varnish. Differences of color is part of the product and come from differences in the original metal sheet. The golden spots are handmade braze to assembly the stool.
Due to this original material, the stool is strictly reserved to indoor use.
