In the winter of 1945, the 10th Mountain Division traversed the Alps, breaking the German lines and helping pave the way for Allied victory in Italy. These are the very snowshoes commissioned by Washington D.C., made in the USA and sent overseas with said division. Each pair is a piece of history, crafted of ash and rawhide, stamped with the manufacturer's name and date, and laced with the original leather bindings. After the war, the 'shoes languished in a barn in Turkey for more than 50 years. Now we offer them in a limited edition, each accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Approx. 13"W x 28"L.
